MARRISON

MAUD SUSANNAH MARRISON

Maud Susannah Marrison was my grandmother...She died one month before I was born. (1954). She was a young war bride from London, England.

She met a Canadian WW1 soldier, William Buchanan at Bridgton Beach, England.

After the war they settled at Prince Edward Island, Canada where William was born. They later moved to Saskatchewan (by train) sometimes in the 1920's and they returned back to Prince Edward Island again around in the late 1930's .

My father had said that she had wanted to go home (England) to visit but never make it. She died of cancer at the age of 63 and was buried at Clyde River (Burnside) Presbyterian Cemetery in Prince Edward Island.

I have been digging some information from the archives, collect old pictures from Daddy's family albums to make this special page to grow..It is for you, Maud Susannah .......

Stratford struck me as a nice quiet place in which to live and has many modest houses. It has a train and an underground station that are situated on the edge of a modern downtown area. Stratford is a very ethnically diverse community now (I suspect that was not the case 100 years ago). from Mike Moore

I was told that Maud was working as home care in a home of another family.
Maud was 20 years old and is no longer living at home.
This may be the family that Maud work with..
